RL &
Judy Parker's 1970 HiLander Project
Gotta take a break sometime - supervising is HARD work!
And sometimes extra help is needed...
Wood off the frame with two fresh coats of Rustoleum paint and the new 3500
lb.
axle with electric brakes. Also pictured are two temporary wheels to move
the
trailer around. The rear bumber has been removed for welding in new angle
iron
to support a 2" hitch receiver to accomodate a "buddy hauler" behind the
trailer.
New axle
The slide receiver with extra angle iron/welded to the frame
Bumper and hitch back in place and new sub floor with two coats of paint
New side plywood with framing using 2x4" notched in plywood on top. The bathroom
window has been raised; remaining windows in the original locations. No
vents cut yet.
Front view - new tongue. Reused the crank because it works good; just needs
paint
Front view with top window set in. Now you can tell it's a HiLander!
