NATIONAL SERRO SCOTTY ORGANIZATION NEWS

The Algonac (Michigan) camp-out is fully booked and four of us were lucky enough to get sites and will be camping along the St. Clair River and watching freighters heading to and from the Great Lakes sail on by. We will also enjoy a car pool trip to the tip of "the thumb" which should be a lot of fun. Mabel and Matty hope Uncle Paul Biland, who lives in Algonac, will come by for a visit again. Mabel is doing a breakfast one morning and we will have a hot dog roast one of the evenings.

Go West Road Trip is now finalized and scheduled for October, 2017. It will again start at Mabel's Glade (for anyone who wants to stop there to join in the caravan west) and takes in a visit to the RV Museum in Elkhart, IN on the way, two nights at the Illini State Park in Illinois including a visit to Starved Rock State Park and ends at Maquoketa Caves State Park in Maquoketa, Iowa - a first time state for the NSSO! Our stop in Iowa includes a visit to Cedar Rapids and the Czech Village and New Bohemia. Maquoketa State Park was made famous in Karen Musser Nortman's first book, Bats and Bones, in the Frannie Shoemaker Campground Mystery Series. We cannot reserve sites yet but keep watch as it will be announced!

Scotty Gatherings

We held a fall gathering at Watkins Glen State Park in the beautiful Fingers Lakes region of western New York. Watch the slideshow...

We missed getting Henry Stewart and pup Smiley in the Watkins Glen slideshow. They were in a different loop.

Congratulations Bev and Don Manvell on their 50th wedding anniversary. Hope we get to camp with you again soon!

Mabel will be hosting a Spamcake breakfast and a Kowalski franks and Flo's Relish hot dog cook out at Algonac

Not the Flo of hot dog relish fame, but Nancy picked up Flo the Flamingo at the TCT event in the Finger Lakes AND met up with Dave and Kate McGrath to see their Cabin Cruiser rebuilt Scotty. Beautiful! Flo will be hanging around with the NSSO and hitting up our events for a while before she returns to New England.
